Early Journey in Taekwon-Do
Donato Nardizzi is an ITF Taekwon-Do Grand Master from London, England. He was promoted to 9th Degree Grand Master on 16th October 2016 in Budapest, Hungary during the ITF World Cup.
He began his journey at the age of 17 in Putney on 9th July 1977, training many hours each day to improve his flexibility, power, and agility. His competitive nature drove him to many competitions, where he won numerous medals and trophies. He became well-known for his impressive patterns and breaking technique.
Learning from General Choi Hong Hi
His line of instructors includes many Grand Masters, and he had the privilege of being taught by the Father and Founder of Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi.
Upon meeting General Choi, Grand Master Nardizzi was inspired by his morals and principles. This encounter deepened his interest in the philosophical aspects of Taekwon-Do as well as the physical.
Creating the ITF Kids Program
This inspiration led him to create the ITF Kids Program in 2011. The program is now taught globally as the official ITF program for children, combining the moral culture of Taekwon-Do with physical techniques in a fun and understandable way.
He also created his YouTube channel to give dedicated Taekwon-Do students free access to valuable lessons, removing barriers of cost and helping them improve wherever they are in the world.
Involvement with ITF England
Acknowledged for his hard work, Grand Master Nardizzi was elected to serve three terms as President of ITF England from 2011 to 2016. He also currently holds the position of Chairman of the ITF Children’s Development Committee.
For his decades of teaching children in his local community and his work with the Kids Program, he was given the honour of serving as an Olympic Torch Bearer during the 2012 Olympics in London.
